How it works (and Tastes!)

Every cake I make is bespoke, baked to order, and designed with care to reflect your style and celebration. Simply fill out the contact form with a few details and I’ll be in touch within 1–2 working days.

I’m based in the East Riding of Yorkshire and deliver across York, Beverley, Driffield, Pocklington and surrounding areas.

I recommend booking your wedding cake at least 6–12 months in advance, especially for summer weddings. Dates do fill up quickly, so the earlier the better!
Yes! I offer postal tasting boxes a few times a year featuring a selection of my most popular flavours. It's a lovely way to sample before making final choices.
I deliver wedding and celebration cakes across East Yorkshire, including York, Beverley, Driffield, Pocklington, and surrounding areas.

Delivery outside this region may be possible, just ask!
I can offer some gluten-free options on request, though please note my kitchen handles gluten, dairy and nuts, so I can’t guarantee allergen-free cakes.
Absolutely! Each cake is custom-designed to reflect your vision, whether that’s rustic neutrals, soft pastels or bold florals.
Yes, celebration cakes for East Yorkshire clients can be collected from my home kitchen near Pocklington, by appointment.

Less is more for this beautiful cake for T&M. I hope you both had a wonderful day. 🥰

Three tiers, Vanilla, Lemon and Salted Caramel surrounded with a beautiful gypsophila spiral.

This solved the couple’s wishes of fresh gypsophila on the cake without it touching the cake. ☺️

Of course, there has to be homemade raspberry jam in the vanilla cake and homemade lemon curd with the lemon cake. 😋

All tiers were coated in whitened white chocolate ganache.

Paddington Bear 🥰

A little confession, I didn’t paint him but, in my defence, my OH did! 😍

Trying to find an image of Paddington Bear has been impossible. So, I found a sketch, printed it off, cut round it out of fondant and handed @nigeldavis490 a paint brush and some edible paints and the rest you can see!

He turned out beautifully, the challenge now is to give up on the acrylics and where we can use fondant and paints.

I’ll let you know how we get on….

Which one would you choose? Lemon curd, raspberry curd, raspberry jam or blackcurrant jelly???

Why I make my own jams and curds...

1 Fresh fillings, made in the days just before the cake.

2 There are no additives in the fillings; for jams it's fruit and sugar and for curds it's fruit, eggs and butter.

3 We grow the blackcurrants and raspberries and sometimes the lemons (they're a bit slow this summer 🙄) so there are no nasties in the growing process.

4 As for colour, hands down are these not the best coloured jams and curds you've ever seen and it's just the fruit giving that vibrancy.

5 It does take extra time but that adds to the passion for all things baking that go into your bespoke cake.

It's felt like I had to wait an age for this cake to come around. For me, this is the perfect two tier baby shower cake. 😍

I love it for its simplicity, colours, size and the overall finished look of this design. #justbeautiful

There are usually 7 layers of one inch sponge cakes in one of my tiers.

That also means 6 layers of wonderful jam or curd and buttercream. 😋

Did you know, all the fillings for my cakes are homemade and where possible, using fruits from our garden.

The blackcurrant jelly makes a wonderful accompaniment to chocolate cake and with whipped chocolate ganache what's not to love 😍

You can't possibly have vanilla sponge without homemade raspberry jam, now that would be a crime!

My favourite though, lemon cake with homemade lemon curd with a little bit of Red Velvet on the side 🙄🤣

I made these with a bit of a peak on purpose for my favourite (only) grandson because they ended up as butterfly buns so needed the bump for wings 😉

I love this recipe because these cupcakes are super soft plus they taste scrummy 😍🤣 If they're good enough for Harrods they'll do for me 😁

Want flat tops to your buns...

1 Bake at a lower temperature than the recommended one.
2 For even buns weigh the mixture into each case and don't overfill.
3 For those baking in a Rayburn, bottom of the oven for perfect flat tops! 😉

I'm definitely a double sieve kinda baker.

Personally I feel it makes my cakes lighter as it gets lots of air into the flour..

Then there's the distribution factor if you're adding other dry ingredients to your flour. ☺️

I know this is a real personal choice one as flour is milled so finely these days there are no lumps to get rid of.

My other passions in life include off road bike touring and my gorgeous Alphonso 🐴

I'm married with a daughter and the most gorgeous baby grandson. It's the OH who does the gardening for the fruits for my jams. 👌

I've always loved baking whether it be cakes, biscuits, bread or breakfast granola you'll find me trying something new or making a trusted recipe.

I bake in an Aga Rayburn oven so don't ask me how long my cakes take or what the temperature is! 🤣 I look at the cooker and ask it how it's feeling today and we go from there. 🥴
